No pressure to drink Low Pressure. But do it anyways.

The stunning new Vancouver Island craft brewer Mt. Arrowsmith Brewing has done it again with another welcomed release. I was pleased to bring a bomber of Low Pressure Porter up to the Cariboo, rather certain that no one in the history of beer drinking had done that before. I definitely get into stouts and porters in the colder seasons, and December in the Cariboo definitely counts as cold.

But back to the beer. I first discovered Arrowsmith’s Blonde Ale when they opened, and I’ve been a fan of the brewer ever since.  So I did not expect I’d regret my choice of their porter, and I didn’t.

The beer had that pleasing viscousity – not too think nor thin, with a full-bodied caramelly-malt flavour. I do appreciate my porters on the cooler side, and that was easy to achieve by keeping in outside for 15 minutes.

In my books Mt. Arrowsmith is 2 for 2. Stay tuned for my review of their Jagged Face IPA, coming soon.
